I just changed the password before changing the email.

do they get a email saying there password has been changed?

No they don't get a email just change the email and you will be fine.

all I did was changed password then changed email in the matter of seconds lol.

ALWAYS change the email first. You weren't dealing with a daily player's account, but when you will some day, always change the email first. They wont notice it and when you change the password afterwards, they wont be able to request it to their email. If you change the password first and the owner happens to be online at the same time, they will get logged out and have time to request their password to the original email if they're quick enough.
