So I was going through old BC entries today

They had a huge premium board on charter for their entry so I there was a ton of votes for it.
It's always been more of a popularity contest unfortunately.

I usually go and browse the entries. And vote the one I think is the most creative in both art and character design, no matter the skill, in each specie.

But sadly, very few to my acknowledge actually do this. It is, indeed, a popularity + spam contest.

My favorite Neo artist was always lilangel. Total awe, to teenage me, and impressive even today.

Ahhh! I forgot about her. Her work also used to blow me away. There were so many wonderful artists around

I definitely remember lilangel's artwork. Her work was also mostly from the beginning of neo from what I remember and it was always fascinating to see Neopets art in another form by a user.

I remember there were other players that had incredible talent. I really like the fact that Neopets inspired and taught millions of players to try something new in almost all forms of art, coding, etc.

I was in absolute awe of fatal_mantis's art, it's a shame she stopped drawing and took down most of her art she still has her art gallery entries up on (you need an account to see links) but her art for her pets was amazing

Crainwater still makes terrific comics for the NT every now and then, she's awesome

I've always been a fan of Darky/Batman (dark_moon_blossom), I don't think she's active anymore but her art was fantastic

Yeah, she deleted pretty much everything though, dA included. Apparently she had a lot go down irl and just stopped drawing completely
