I haven't made my own patterns, I've only bought prepatterned swaths, so I don't have to worry about that

I wanted to cross-stich an album cover so I looked this up and several websites make it relatively easy! I can't recommend any off the top of my head but the reddit crossstiching is very active and can help you out!
