The Rarest Items in Neopets

I've been wondering with the current (and seemingly constant) inflation on Neopets, what the rarest items actually were? I tried to find a similar thread but couldn't.

I'm not talking like Darigan Sword of Death or other old plot prizes of which only one or two ever existed, but more items that used to be more abundant in the past but aren't anymore. I'm assuming the rarest items in that category would probably be collectibles or stamps. Like how many Wock Til You Drop or Commander Garoo stamps actually exist today? I know it's hard to say because a lot of items are duped and generated, but it still seems to be near impossible to come across on of these more than a couple of times a year. I don't remember the last time I saw one.

Does anyone know what the rarest items are today? Also what even happened to the DSOD? Featheralley had it, then it got donated to a Darigan gallery which doesn't exist anymore. Did it just get wiped off the site?

I was partially joking. Lol
There was a Commander Garoo stamp on that account. And a SuAP.
I haven't played seriously since 2013 because of it so I don't have a real answer.

I’d say some of the rarest items are likely old code items from years past. There are lots of things that there were just never too many of from the start and now there are even less of them. Consumables like OLD books are probably the rarest. Things that are just collectible are up there as well, likely because they have no use other than to collectors and people probably didn’t have them to dupe them, and didn’t care tk gen them because they can be tricky to sell.

I think the OG DSOD is frozen now. Any others that are out there are likely genned. I got the OG Tazzalors Cutlass years ago, another one off, and sold it onsite. Don’t know what happened to that one, probably frozen somewhere too

The user icelandisverycold has a DSOD in their gallery. I like to admire their gallery from time to time.

Pretty good question you asked though. Plot prizes with limited release would've been my immediate response. For me persoanlly, if i get a Golden Bringer Plushie, i would have completed neopets.com. I think it is frozen though & i'm not sure if there are any dupes out there

After checking it out I also think it's displayed way too openly to not be the OG. It would be interesting to know how it passed down. Or if someone could actually run BD trials.

I think that’s a tricky question. Idk anything that’s been available in the thousands that is now rare - I doubt there is anything like that. Maybe a few paint brushes, a lot of them are given by dailies and such but sometimes I feel like there are none around when I need them. Then I find an old inactive and it has a dozen of each it seems lol

I’d be willing to bet most of those items are illegit in one way or another but he’s a chill dude.
