I only approach people if they're wearing fandom merch.ill compliment them on it and proceed to have the convo
This is the only way I start any convo.
This is one of those areas in life where I wish we could all stay like children:
"Hey, wanna piece of gum?" or "Wow, I like your pog!" (90's kids) = instant BFFs 4ever!
Instead, as adults, people are suspicious of kindness and creeped out by most compliments, so it's difficult to start a conversation with a total stranger.
Lol yes. I definitely remember Pogs. Or the "WHOOAAAAA you have a Charizard card? ! I will trade you a Blastoise for it!"...no way get out of here!
We have a friend who is trying to find himself a girlfriend so he goes on a lot of dates or tries to introduce himself to others. He asks me a lot of questions on what to do because I have the female advice. We were talking one day about how it is hard to talk to random women because of that creep factor, too many women think he or men in general talking are doing so just for the purpose of getting her into bed. So I asked well when you are talking to her is that yourgoal? And he said of course it is but I still want to talk. Then he went on a rant about how women think it's all about sex for men. Well...you just said that was your goal so why be upset with that woman for thinking it? He is still looking for a woman. Until he is confident in himself he won't get anywhere.

@(you need an account to see links) , is your friend also a self-proclaimed "nice guy", average or a little below average looking, that only approaches hot girls? Just curious. Just strikes me as that kind of guy. xD
I'll never forget this quote: "Women are not vending machines that you put kindness coins in until sex falls out."
And yes, confidence is awesome, complaining is generally a huge turnoff. Hopefully he only does that with his friends and not to elicit sympathy from women he wants to "talk to" haha.
@(you need an account to see links) he is a genuine nice guy, a bit awkward though. I just need to keep him confident he can find a woman based on mutual personality rather than such a focus on looks. It is a mess but it is getting better lol
That can be ok, as long as it's cute/shy-awkward (like starting a conversation, laughing or smiling a little too much at first--I think that's adorable) and not creepy-awkward, like socially inappropriate or can't keep a conversation going once it's already started. There's a fine line, lol. Good luck!
need help with this one ...
i think when i be nice, i come off as needy :I
