this might be the first year I've stayed in on Halloween on a long time and I'm really excited to hand out candy, I've never done it before. I'm thinking I'll post up in my yard (so my dogs don't lose their shit over people knocking) with a big tub of candy and a ladle to keep it as hands-free as possible.

I am so sad to hear about black cats! I didn't know that this was a thing, and as my (very elderly) fur child is a little black hole of cuddles and sweetness, that is devastating.

Halloween decorations are so pretty in the themed parks!
I've been to Japan like 4 times already, and I really want to go again.... damn you covid ;;
I was also there during Christmas once (another holiday that isn't celebrated here). This time I didn't go to a theme park but there were still a lot of decorations everywhere to see!

During halloween, disneyland tokyo visitors are allowed to cosplay and enter the theme parks as their favourite disney characters!
the first (and last due to covid) time i went disneyland tokyo, it was during the halloween period and i saw a family all dressed up as snowwhite and the dwarves! it was so coooolll!!
but during normal days, no cosplay is allowed in the park though.
would like to return to japan once this covid situation is better!
not sure if this cosplay rule is the same for other countries..?

People hella "dress up" when they go to amusement parks in Japan though even off Halloween season, it's kind of wild! When I went to Tokyo DisneySea a few years back, there were tons of people in coordinated outfits of that bear mascot (Duffy? And all the other characters lol) and when I went to Universal Studios Japan there was a group of teenage boys dressed in minions, like full yellow spandex and overalls and goggles. It was INSANE but easily the funniest/best thing I saw lol.
