I saw someone on reddit say that the mutant acara and poogle should be split off into their own color and sloppy new versions made going forward, and tbh that would be rad because then we'd get, fucken, space hell monster versions of every pet.

That is such a good idea. These are the dimensional pets I want. I want pets that look like they crawled out of a black hole over Flash Gordon's corpse and are here to f Sloth's world up. What a fun plot that would be, some kind of space invader war where Sloth and his mutants have to actually team up with Neopians before these Z'ha'dum looking creepers destroy the whole planet.

it definitely hits the "mutant" criteria but i agree with past comments who said it doesn't look consistent with the art style.... like the art for the acara/poogle is amazing and the vanda is looking straight out of a child's coloring book

In a way I like how terrible it is apart from it's face, but my heart really wishes they had done the ugly plucked chicken design some people have been drawing instead of the purple green mess we got.

Why vandas always have this "happy" looking face with all its colors? Even the darigan one keeps the same stupid face and this new mutant one is no exception. Honestly it's one of the worst species for me and this doesn't help at all anyways I guess after those two recently perfectly designed colors (steampunk techo and marble draik) they had to fuck up some other sooner or later, so I'll take it being this one

After seeing those drawings I feel inspired to make a revamp of my own! Unfortunately I won't have any free time whatsoever for the next few weeks.... Did anybody else here make any redraws?

The thing with TNT's mutant Vanda is they tried to be too restrictive with the pose. It would have helped if they didn't stick to the "standing up straight with a clenched fist" pose. I envisioned a burly owl-beast with muddy-colors and spikes hunched over. The current design works and screams mutant, but I don't think the artist should have traced the base for the Vanda. By all means keep the theme with the clenched fist for customization purposes, but I think they should have gone bigger and bulkier.

Did they fire the artist that did the mutant Acara?
