It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

The other day we were driving home from dinner, people were setting off fireworks in a plaza right next to a highway. We were dumbfounded!

It's still running high over here (95°F+) but early mornings are in the 80's, it's nice... but needs to cool down soon!

Yes! People are crazy!
I just woke up and my father said that they found the guy who set them off, so they're going to kick him out of the complex due to how dangerous that was.
Little back story, these apartments sadly caught fire due to something like this before ): (Before I moved in that is)
So they dont take this as a joke.

But today is going to be 86 for me, which isnt AS hot but its still to hot for my liking LOL AC gets turned on around 11 so it doesnt work to hard to cool the apartment down

Geez, I'm glad they found the guy who set them off! Good on them for taking it seriously because fireworks are No Joke. There was an incident a couple years ago at a park near my second childhood home where people didn't set up the fireworks correctly so they went off horizontally and set the park on fire.

I just took my dog to the park and it was 82°F when we arrived. It was 88°F by the time we got home! Crazy stuff.

Holy cow! Now THAT is super scary! A park of all places ): Fireworks are a scary thing when not handled correctly...
I dont like fireworks in general and I dont really celebrate the 4th, but when people set them off without taking care, it just get out of hand and can hurt a lot of people ):

Oh my, I would just cry from being in the heat lol There were a few times when I woke up at like 7-8am and it was already around 79 and I just...I couldnt lol

This summer.... I finally got a promotion! I run a fancy restaurant and have spent the last 4 years running around like a marathon athlete on patios. This year I'm finally transferring to a more director role and will have free time to see the sun on my own terms. I can't wait to take my dog to the beach for the first time.

Fingers crossed! I'm a little sad about it, because I love running around a busy restaurant like a maniac, but it's the right move for sure.

Omg Wooloo and Bulbasaur those are freaking nightmare stories T_T honestly the idea of fires breaking out is terrifying to me because it's like fuck they can move so fast and once they get out of control there is very little you can do to put it out/damage mitigation and the fact that all your stuff can burn due to the idiotic fault of OTHER people... hate it

I always love Fireworks on the Fourth of July. But because of Covid we have not had them much in a few years. And this year seems to be mostly the same. Only found one place nearby. So sad that people still feel uncomfortable congregating. Or maybe just stray sparks hitting the desert brush.

not in terms of fires breaking out, but last year?? we did fireworks in our front lawn as it's pretty big. one of them didn't stay in the bucket and proceeded to attack all of us and shoot across the street at the neighbours house. they were pissed. meanwhile we're all smoke covered and it hit my leg and tore a hole in my leggings. i had a small burn mark, like smaller than the size of a dime, but i was super pissed too as i just got those leggings like 2 days before? they're expensive the one of the only ones that fit properly, so yeah, not happy. but everyone had to duck and hide behind the side of the house, or behind the green box, and even then, it still came under the cars and started attacking everyone like it had a mind of its own. great memories. LOL.
