There is a new avatar that is released for the promotional set of the new Neopets TCG.

Considering the fact that JN lists the avatar's description as follows, it seems like the avatar is exclusively given to the promotional TCG set that is being sold at Comic-Con 2023.

Purchase the Upper Deck promotional TCG set while at Comic-Con 2023 and redeem the included Rare Item Code.

What a big fat fuck-you to people not living in the US/not being able to go to the Comic-Con. They should be selling the promotional set online as well as merch to make it more fair :\ They can easily make so much money selling this set online for everyone to purchase, even those located outside of the US.

People on the boards are saying that there's a chance it'll get released to everyone like the SDCC 2019 avatar. But seeing as this one requires a purchase of the promotional deck ($30 USD), I highly doubt they'll release it because the people who bought it would riot.

Those who can make it can essentially buy multiple sets and make some money off it online I guess?

The way the people over at Upper Deck are saying it, it really does seem that the avatar is exclusive to the promo set, and only if the promo set gets to more people will they get the avatar.

Which means they may not be releasing it like the 2019 avatar, but the good news is that they're discussing ways to make it more accessible to others. Hopefully things work out!

Honestly, I feel pretty optimistic about it getting released like the past SDCC ones, but only time will tell. Giving a big middle finger to the guy that got six of them and is auctioning them off, though.

I hope they do release it. It's a gorgeous avatar and it would be unfair/unwise of them to not release publicly and capitalize off of the purchase of the TCG's.
Of course someone bought extra and is auctioning them off, got to love scalpers

I really hate scalpers. If you want to charge a little premium to offset your entry tickets to Comic-Con, fine I don't mind paying a little extra since I'm saving on the tickets, airfare etc. But if you're trying to scalp, you can just fuck off. I really hope TNT releases it as a middle finger to all the scalpers out there.

Yes, seems like it is. And there'll be the full set that will be released likely in 2024.

However, the issue right now is that it seems like the avatar is only given exclusively to the SDCC promotional pack. No word on whether it'll be given to the full set, and/or if it's even available worldwide.

A quick look on Ebay now shows scalpers selling those sets at $150 USD and more.

That thing of the ava being exclusive from SDCC and counts on the avatar list really sucks! Not even Premium avatar counts and that's because it's something paid.
I hope TNT will release the avie for all or make it don't count on the list to make it fair.
They did say they'd listen the players more in this new era, right?

Ugh, this avatar is so cute, I'll be really annoyed if they make it a strict exclusive. It's good optics if they release it to everyone later down the line, but if they do, they should say that sooner rather than later.
