2 hours ago it was working fine, but now the power button isn't responding at all, and I have no idea how to fix this =\
Everything else, including all the other buttons, are working fine. In fact I am writing this on the very same laptop.
I found another way to boot my laptop, but it's somewhat tedious so I'd still like it fixed xD
Click in the battery icon and energy options, then "Choose action when the screen is closed" And there will be options... Sorry if i didn't help you :3 I tried (My computer is in Portuguese so i'm translating :p)
Thanks, but that's not what I meant.. The button just isn't working, whether I change the settings or not. Personally I think it's a hardware problem.. might just have someone repair it
I assume you mean the actual power button that glows and whatnot?
Does it click when you press it or make a hollow kinda noise like something is not correctly placed inside?
If it sounds and feels normal you can try looking online for drivers, worst comes to worst you can store all your wanted saves and programs and try a full restore from disc.
I don't know about going to a repair store because it seems computers are always being replaced. You can sell it on eBay too, use some of the money for a new computer.
Also, I'd like to recommend buying from Costco if you are looking at getting a new computer some time soon. They offer TWO years of protection FREE, and are pretty generous about what they are willing to repair. (no batteries though, grrrr)
