I'm with the minority here tho' because I find Batman more plausible for an 'average Joe' (note: not infamous) to aspire to become! That utility belt... mmm. Further, I enjoyed watching Myth Busters go against the grain and find a way for his zip-line to be plausible.

Without knowing very much about Iron Man I say Batman because it's less about who can beat up who but more about Batman running analyses on Iron Man in his Batcave and exploiting some weakness he uncovers. Batman was always less about traditional superhero muscle and more about his detective work.

I can only vote based on my intrinsic value assessment of the characters. I enjoy that they are both human, and that their "powers" come from great intellect. They both have a lot of money to help fund their work. I do like Wayne's "batcave" mentality, but think he borders on clinical depression, which would hinder his longterm effectiveness. His desire to not kill badguys I feel is a hindrance. To be fair, though I voted for Iron Man, I haven't read much of him and don't know if he kills badguys or not. I value him higher, in effectiveness, because I think a person with a more upbeat personality has a better chance of surviving the ridiculous job of crimefighter. I also like that he uses a lot of engineering, himself, he's the bloody engineer! Wayne is obviously intelligent, but there isn't a lot of background for his toys. I think he has a Q-type relationship with someone (in the movies, it's the Morgan Freeman character) to get him his goodies, because he doesn't seem to have any sort of science background whatsoever.

    SCIENCE!
