ReCaptchas Suck!

Yeah I think its definitely tied to my IP address. The more pets I look up the more captchas show up. However when I switch IP's it basically starts over and there aren't any captchas until I look at about 4 in a row and then they show up.

I setup a new main account after not playing for a few years and I'm not even bothering with the pet lookup avatars. I tried, I had the patience to do about 15 of them, then said fuck this and decided I don't really care about avatars anyways.

It's no wonder the only people who play this game are people who played it when they were kids, no actual kid would have the patience for this hot trash.

Well... i get it's annoying, yes. But when captchas started i just thought 'hey, this could stop PC nosy people'. And... i liked it.

Yep, though of course it won't stop the most persistent people, it does make people less likely to click on userlookups and petlookups so UCs and RWs aren't as tracked anymore!

Still super annoying though.

^^ Yes! This is exactly the problem!

Neopets wonders why they have such a dwindling playerbase, yet the things players would do for fun (visit friend's lookups and view their pets) that have no monetary gain whatsoever they block with these *ing captchas. All because the cheapasses can't afford some bandwidth for spider crawls and google indexing?

honestly, the website's age really shows just in general. I love neopets, so I don't mind too much, but there are a lot of things that are still just as clunky as they were back in the day.
