I actually had a friend who worked on The Departed.
While both of those movies are really good, I'm looking for less main stream movies.
@(you need an account to see links) I've already watched How I Live Now. Really enjoyed it, thank you!
Especially because I'm American and my husband is British.
I was like, "OH MY GOD THIS COULD HAVE TOTALLY BEEN US kind of not really BUT STILL."

Although I'm not sure if these two are main stream or not but City of God and Usual Suspects are two of my favorites. Again they might not be on on Netflix. City of God is subbed, so I'm not sure if you would be comfortable watching that, still one of the best movies I have ever seen.

Usual Suspects

I don't know if this counts because it's popular in South Korea but my favorite all-time movie is A Werewolf Boy. I cry every time I watch it (and I don't cry during movies!).
I love Wristcutters and Sleepwalk With Me. I actually saw the latter at a film fest and Mike Birbiglia came out after and spoke and it was great.
I didn't know there was a film of Perfume, but I read the first chapter or two and meant to keep reading (I was just picking up a friends book), but that was several years ago.
I really enjoyed Safety Not Guaranteed, which is recent, but I think it was still fairly popular? The guy who made Looper also has two previous films which are great- Brick and The Brothers Bloom.
