Now I'm not so sure. I'm tentatively planning on going into the military in the medical field somewhere and then continuing school in a year or two. But I'm not sure because there's been a lot going on in my life recently and I've been struggling. I'm still determined to become a nurse.

Keep at it, and don't lose your goals. It's really easy to let them slip away, but the end is no where near what it may have been. Regarding the military, everyone I know that goes into the military comes out a better person, contrary to popular belief. Plus, you get to be "on site" for a lot of things, which IMO is so much better than nursing a permanently sick society due to our inability to keep ourselves healthy.

Oh for sure. I never really considered myself military material. But the more I look at it and think about it, the more I think it's be amazing for me. I am so not under the illusion that its going to be easy. Not at all. But if I end up doing that, I refuse to quit. Several people I've talked to have said that they wished they'd joined because of a lot of different things. I've got to get my depression under control because I can't be on those meds at basic training because if I had some problem or wasn't able to refill them, that could be bad. But once I do that... I think I'd really regret not doing it.

Thanks! Yeah, I figured. I work in a lab where a student is trying to get research published, and we haven't even started helping her write and she's had numerous breakdowns because she'll notice a systematic error or random error in her procedure which skews her data and so forth.

Go to uni, become a doctor, help orphans in Africa. And then get rich. In that order. And maybe not help the orphans. Only when I feel like it.

The 12 years of school is probably going to be the hardest part of that.

Oh tell me about it! I'm secretly hoping to specialize in neurology, which would take 13 years or more. But I'm very passionate about studying Medicine and I can't wait to start my studies in August. The only thing I'm bitter about is that when my friends are taking gap years and having a great time in cool places all around the world, I'll be studying my ass off.
