it's vanilla cake made from scratch with horchata mix instead of sugar and frosting made from nutella. the lettering was stenciled on in horchata mix, too. it tastes amazing

bit of a backstory: i havent baked since i was about 15, and i decided COMPLETELY OUT OF THE BLUE in the middle of tesco today to pick up a bunch of baking shit and make some cakes just to do this. i got home and started baking, but one of the things i didnt do was look up how to make a cake exactly and i just went from memory. i think i should point out here that my memory is terrible.

my baking tray is tiny, my oven is temperamental at best, and i was overzealous in the amount of cake batter i was dropping into the cupcake holders, so they raised too much and collapsed in on themselves as well as blended together in ways i never imagined. i also decided to start watching a movie and not set a timer as soon as i put them all in the oven, so i threw them in and forgot about them for about 20 minutes while half of them were too fucking close to the front and some were at the back getting more burnt than necessary. this resulted in 12 cupcakes, 9 of which were burnt to shit and completely unfixable. i was a martyr and ate those ones plain and threw some of them out for whatever wildlife or daring child wanted them, this left me with 3 small cupcakes i could fix to my little hearts desire, one of which i left for my mum because im 10 years old and wanted her to see what her talented little boy made at school today. i wasnt gonna give her a cupcake that said CLRAIK OWNS ME on it though as much as i wanted to and thought itd be funny, shed probably ask weird questions like "who is clraik and what kind of online bdsm relationships are you involved in?", so you all only get 2 but theyre expertly fucking decorated with all the finesse and expertise of a 4 year old who got left alone with a shitload of icing. in fact i picked out the two best looking ones just for you all.

theyre basic sponge cakes, handmade vanilla buttercream icing, weird pink and blue glitter that makes them shimmer nicely but is now all over my hands and wont come off (ill pretend im annoyed by this but im far from it), weird little edible pearls i thought were cute, the holders are space themed and the writing icing isnt handmade because i couldnt find food colouring

and i gotta apologise for the faces im making i promise i look better than this usually lol. this is only a link because the idea of guests seeing my face is scary to me rn haha. theyre sort of hard to see, sorry!

also the red one was delicious and turns out i made them perfectly despite all the hiccups.

I am not a really good cake baker, I blame it on the oven but I am rather a good decorater.
