    Is this considered "legit"?

So let's say, someone offers their duped, but secured SuAP on another persons legitimate SuAP on the TP and the person accepts the offer. Essentially just swapping your illegit item for their legit one.

This could also be achieved by begging on the AC for, let's say, an MSPP lend. The lender sends you their MSPP, you accept it, send back your duped version instead.

Would this then qualify the item as "legit"?

Not really. I don't see any reason why somebody would want to try a "legit" suap for a duped one. About 99% of the suaps around now are duped anyway.
    What's my definition of success?
Creating something no one else can
Being brave enough to dream big
Grindin' when you're told to just quit
Giving more when you got nothin' left

The account would still be tainted though, so I would still treat it like a duped item. If the new owner gets frozen cause of it, tnt is going to trace it right back to you.

This is true, but I mean as long as the illegit suap is properly secured nobody would even notice.
Plus I'm sure there's someone that would accept a SuAP for a SuAP just to be funny.
Plus: I have seen people refer to items as "legit" because they traded for it on site.

Every item has an item ID which TNT can apparently track. Clearly they don't give two shits because look at all the clearly duped items TNT has literally allowed into the economy.

Not going to lie, I did this with a faerie queen doll once. Wouldn't work now though, not after how widespread the duping was.

With the widespread duping I think it would actually help. Would open up the possibility of other people trading their items for the same one to pass it off as legit. The only way you can sell high end shit on the boards is by providing a legit looking seller/owner history.

no, you can still get it
you can still use duped items for avatars or whatever theyre used for, its just a matter of tnt catching you with them.
i dont know about recently, but they crack down on duping pretty rough, and usually freeze anyone whos come into contact with a dupe whether or not they knew it was a dupe.

Anybody who would do that to be funny is probably well aware of the duping incidents and would not want to trades peas with just any random person. It is a bit more difficult to tell with other items because there were lots of them around already, stamps, pbs, bd weapons, etc but suaps were not EVERYWHERE haha. They are only more available now because of the duping and how many people took part in that. I can't even begin to count the number of active accounts I've run into that have suaps in them in the past few months. There are lots of people with many suaps stored in their sdb, hoping they will get away with them I'm sure.

You can't take a duped suap, trade it with somebody onsite, then come to ck and make a thread: "Selling LEGIT SuAP". That won't work. tldr.
