It specifically said using real world currency. Which I believe everyone here says they received, yes?

yes, my ban's reason was "Real Money Transaction."
I assume seller accounts, mostly ones that conducted larger volumes of transactions on a sole account or IP, were found by FR staff or reported to them by the recent blackmailers on this site. Then the FR staff went through and banned every recipient of that account's one-sided/fishy transactions. Which is why many buyers, who haven't bought anything in months (including me), were banned along with one or more of their previous sellers.

Edit: just seen that my buying account was locked. Thank God it wasn't my main.
I've only done transactions with a handful of people so I'm very curious now lol.

Wish we could make a server on Discord or something similar for trusted sellers and buyers ): seems like doing things publicly isn't safe anymore.

I agree about the Discord ): I only bought from one person so I'm wondering if they were sold out too? This whole ordeal is really strange and shitty.
Edited to say that my account is still standing. I'll let this thread know if anything happens otherwise ...
Goes to show that FR could make so much more money if they adjusted the gems:USD buying rate on their site. Some of the people banned probably spent several hundreds, if not thousands on off-site transactions.

Was just talking about this with a close friend who also plays. If this is true, as I also suspect, you could report anyone you dislike for "real currency transactions" and get them banned like that. I pray they at least require SOME proof, or else that tactic will certainly be abused by hateful and/or jealous individuals. Makes me sick to know some folks caught in the crossfire aren't guilty of breaking site TOS period, as offsite trading IS allowed.
If they are going to end up punishing people who don't BM for BM crimes, they need to make it against TOS to offsite trade, period. While I'm not in support of it, at least that way they wouldn't be banning people for playing within their own damn rules.

A person I did a transaction with was banned. I tend to do a lot of offsite trades(at least have in the past but have grown pretty inactive beyond festivals). Not sure if I'll be caught in the crossfires, but good luck to everyone out there.
