Bagged milk tastes the same regular milk to me. The thing is, bagged milk costs much less for the average household I suppose. I end up buying cartons to avoid the difficulties with bags and I can't drink that much anyway.
2L of low-end carton of milk = $4.49
4L of bagged low-end milk = $4.99
Prices are relatively fixed to protect low-income families and the only way to adjust milk prices is if there is some benefit(s) added. i.e. fine filtered, added Omega 3, organic
2L of a carton of 2% Natrel = $4.99
4L of bagged 2% Natrel = $5.99
Some milk such as Dairy Oh! or whatever comes in cartons only and it's like $5.49 for 2L.
Plastic bags from milks can't be recycled but that waste isn't so bad due to the relative volume/quantity of it. You want to know the worst? Coffee cups. The majority of cities do not have the recycling facilities to recycle the cups and considering the sheer volume of coffee cups purchased per day, that's an awful lot of waste compared to milk bags.
