Grew up with Kazakh/Russian and Hebrew but can't remember shit lmao. Growing up learning English was hard because of the grammar. I still make mistakes so I'm sorry to everyone that reads my horrible grammar English!
I can only really speak English and Spanish now but hoping I can jump back into my other languages at some point.

Spanish is also my first language! I read and write pretty well in English, but I'm terrible at speaking it. I get nervous and everything is worse TwT I know it's due to lack of practice... but I could think about a ck language study group hehe


If sign language counts, then I know 3! My sister was born deaf and then the whole family learned. I want to do a specialization because I also use it in my work.

Yeah it's great!! It's also really helpful for explaining more confusing concepts/complex grammar rules, and you can ask it about which words/slang differ by region.

My native language is Bulgarian (I strongly suspect I'm the only one here and I'm kinda proficient in English and French - studied in a French language high school, then a few years in France, then at a much later stage went to uni to get a Master degree in French language/translation. English - I studied it all by myself. I also know Russian (rather good at reading, not so good at talking) and I'm currently studying German. Tried Finnish for a while, beautiful language, awfully hard, and Arabic - same story (I was teaching Science (my first uni degree) in a Lebanese school and one of the Arabic language teachers helped me start learning it. As Bulgarian uses Cyrillic alphabet, Arabic was the third one for me and I didn't do very well in learning it, I must admit

I'm not bilingual but I've found podcasts can be a fun and helpful way of learning a new language! You get a lot of listening time in and often they ask you to repeat what is said so you can practice pronunciation
