You might notice that certain times of the day will get you a higher score in Test Your Strength, a higher score when completing the Brain Tree quest, getting lotto tickets from Dice-A-Roo happens way more often during certain hours in the day, making the Grumpy King/Wise King laugh/angry, I could go on...

hard to know the algorithm/function they used, but anyone who does or has programmed before know the decades long struggle for computing to reach true randomness. A computer simply is not able to return a result without being given parameters first.

I still believe there is more to it, despite being 1/1000 maybe there is a limit of SAP per day and therefore morning players had a chance while afternoon/night players have none. Something in this line.

other than today I do it at midnight NST and no drop for me across a couple of accounts.

Sap is seasonal attack pea, suap is super attack pea. They're different items and sap is being given out at the advent calendar. Speaking of abbreviations that you think of one thing instead of another, what does erp and the other sap stand for in this context?
