Background transparency help?

I have a gif image I want to use but unfortunately it comes with a background. The sites I use make it from a .gif to a .png and mess up the gif of it. Is there any sites that can make transparent gifs or perhaps someone could lend me a hand with it? I just want to remove the ugly background of it but still keep the gif aspect

Ha ha! That's very you. Were you looking to remove the background color itself, or the snow particles as well? You can write up a batch that highlights the background color and erases it, but the snow particles will need some tolerance to yank out the pinkish semi-transparent color blending. Unless you were looking to remove the particles as well.

Thank you aha! I'm just wanting the godzilla image to rotate. Everything else I want gone. Didn't even see the snow imo!!

Before you go down the rabbit hole with modifying a moving image with lots of little details, are you certain that (you need an account to see links) doesn't have a flat background copy of that image somewhere for you to work with? They appear to be a prevalent content creator who works on a lot of stuff, so maybe this version of the image was the end result with added effects, and they have a workable source file somewhere? Finding that may take less time than doing all the edits you're looking for.

I'll have to check later since im a bit busy. I just did a quick Google search earlier and saw that image and then just wanted to see if there were any sites to make the image transparent but keep the rotating godzilla

I tried a quick one with photoshops new remove background feature. The problem is the colors of the christmas hat/scales clash with the background, so the AI removes that as well. There is a way to get that back, but that would take having to manually edit each of the 127 frames of that gif.

Mm, looks like the original was posted on the artist's (you need an account to see links)in 2017. Hopefully he hoards assets!
