You don't have to complete things day-of, you can even go back and do things from years ago, but it might affect the leaderboard points, I'm not sure. To be honest when I suggested a leaderboard I wasn't planning on it being competitive, more just a way of keeping each other accountable for doing things!

Also I told myself I wasn't gonna do these right at midnight because it's not good for winding down the brain, but I'm feeling wired tonight, anyway!

Ah that's good to know. I was going off TNT's advent calendar, where once you miss it, you can't go back.

I'm glad you can go back on things since I wasn't home at all for d1 and I'm still not back (should be before d2 end at least)
I'm probably gonna miss doing any of the Friday ones the-day-of ^^;

that happened to me too! i was getting angry at why my solution isnt correct. lmao. i was not able to conclude if i should include the second part of the text if they were to overlap.

also, im not proud of how slow i am - taking an average of ~60mins/day. i saw some of the top ranked completing them in 6secs for part 1 of Day 1. major wut.

and if i were to look at my code again, most of them are not even optimized - shows that im not good at leetcode problems and not good enough for faang. most of the time, im thinking if i should go for speed of completion or optimized performance.

I feel the same too but tbh I haven't really invested time practicing as I should so I'm trying to not take it that hard.

So working on the first task of day one now and... I really don't like how they didn't explain the task properly in the example. Like the fact that written numbers are considered numbers etc <----- scratch that I'm just stupid
I'm tweaking my code every now and again since ofc I can't get the right answer in one go, and having to wait gradually more time to submit my next answer is really annoying :/
Doesn't the more you work the fewer twitches you probably need? that's a really weird mechanism IMO.

Edit 2: I found out what was wrong and why I got so confused and it's really embarrassing but hopefully it'll be smoother sailing from now on lmao

I also found day two a lot easier than day one! I also feel like this year is starting out a bit easier than ones in the past. I feel like in past years we jumped right into matrices and shit.

Really? When I peeked in the reddit to get some hint I mostly saw people complaining about how hard day 1 and 3 were for "beginning days" haha

Anyway day 3 was fun as well. Not as easy as day 2 but better than day 1 for me (but at this point I just feel like I approached day 1 very wrong lol)
For the 2nd task I had such a stupid bug in the code that I faceplamed so hard when I found it, lol
