I'd love to hear experiences from Neurodivergent people on here, today I received my official diagnosis of ADHD, autism, and anxiety. It was very eye-opening and not sure how I'm processing it, feeling a bit numb, Would love to hear other's experiences of their journey!

I'll come back to talk about my experience later - but you're not alone! I have anxiety, depression, etc. plus a semi-recent diagnosis of autism so we're in the same boat here It's hard to process for a lot of people, but I actually found a lot of relief in diagnosis. It helps in that fact that now I can start to process and test new strategies to help deal with these things

I love that for you, understanding your own unique issues is a big step towards improving your mental space. How did you go about getting diagnosed? I believe I have some undiagnosed issues, but don't know where to start to get a diagnosis and subsequent help.
I managed to find a charity that offers funding to get a private Psychologist assessment, I was very lucky and got approved. I then booked my assessment and the lady was lovely! Made me feel very understood and welcome.
I just started by finding psychologists near me that offer assessments, and then reached out to ones that do online assessments. There was a lot of self tests too it was very interesting.
I would just start by looking for someone near to you or online assessments that are reasonable costing, or getting a referral from doctor ^_^

Completely agree, having it down on paper is certainly helping me process and start understanding myself better!

Autistic over here too!
It's against the rules to link to other communities including FB groups, but I will say there are some wonderful groups out there that are focused on autistic voices only, where you will probably feel very validated and accepted.
When I received my diagnosis as a teenager, I felt there was finally a reason for why I experienced the world so differently from others.
Like yes! I'm not broken, just different. Maybe you know what I mean. I hope you find a sense of relief too. The world is generally not accommodating for us, so it can be hard to feel alone.
Having taken many years to process it and talk to other autistic people, I definitely embrace my quirks now.

Autistic, ADHD and diagnosed with anxiety. Got the triple threat.
My life didn't exactly change after being diagnosed with any of the three, since I had long, long suspected I fell somewhere along the spectrum for quite some time. And being put on medication for ADHD never really helped either since we could never really find just the right combination to make my brain "function" before I lost my insurance and couldn't afford to go to the doctor anymore. Really, I've learned to simply mask myself in public (leading to massive amounts of mental fatigue and needing to recharge at home) and grin and bear it. Which, sadly doesn't always work out because eventually I'll bubble over and have a breakdown from being stressed or overstimulated.
I have ADHD and was diagnosed young, so don't really remember much pre-diagnosis and I learned about it as I grew. On the flip side, I have a neurological condition that can basically cause some ASD-like traits/experiences. When I first found out about it, it was so validating because there are aspects of Autism that definitely ring true to my life, and others that don't at all. A lot of people with my condition have both diagnosed, but I haven't pursued that because I feel like making it official or deciding to name it, isn't gonna really change my experiences or the way I learn to deal with them, I guess? But for some people it's super valuable, so not discounting it!
I appreciate you all sharing your story! It makes me feel so welcome, and less alone in this discovery of self
Appreciate you all <3

Autistic adhd here! Late diagnosis and teenager years were hell for me, but neopets was a great escape.
Now that I'm jobless I hyperfocus on getting game avatars and finding names I want, but I'm normally a better person and front end developer.
