Hereditary is the only horror film I've seen in recent years that really stuck with me. It's not a light-hearted or campy at all though.

hahha that one def stuck with me too. A24 films did great with that one. Have you seen 'Talk to me'? it was also produced by them. Pretty decent newer one imo.

Sit through EVERY Hellraiser movie, end to end, and just accept that those movies were force fed Pinhead. Take in the weird movies they are, even with the shoehorned inclusions. Those are some twisted stories! I like that the newer film took the cool lore bits from eery film, and made it all part of the Mythos.

pinhead scared me as a kid hahahah. i remember being like 6 watching the original and being terrified. i seen the one that came out a few years back but havent sat through them all. one of these days i'll binge them though! (: great rec, thank you!

The thing is def a unique one. Excellent rec! The exorcist is on my friends list, first one mentioned in fact. The Blair witch project is one of my old favorites...well..childhood favs i should say. Thank you very much!

I love horror movies so much but its hard for me to think of any that I consider my favorites... if The Silence of the Lambs counts as a horror movie then I would say that- I consider it more of a thriller though, haha
