Baldur's Gate 3

I am playing and loving BG3. I'm in act 2, level 7 I think. I love the thrown weapon barbarian build I have stuck on Karlach. She melts everything with it.

Really tempted to get the game. Have seen lots of positive things about the game show up. I never really played that much DnD despite a friend group that plays weekly. I'm always looking forward to games that push gameplay experience forward.

i just wanna say while bg3 is absolutely accessible without playing dnd, if anyone does ever want to play dungeons and dragons after playing baldur's gate 3, it will make you a better player. bg3 allowed us to become more familiar with each other's classes and as a result through some creative buff spellcasting in the campaign i am in we were able to solve a rune puzzle we shouldn't have been able to w/o help or at least two more levels. dm was in shambles.

I have way too many saves but I'm having a blast! Bard and Barbarian are my favorite jobs so far. They're both funny as fuck.

Hopped on this train just a few days ago! I'm working through it super slow (just met Karlach) but I have to say that Gale and Halsin are my faves so far. Putting Magic Missile on Gale made him actually usable for me lol. I'm level 4 and already excites to start more playthroughs as different classes - I bet doing the Goblin Keep as a rogue would be SUPER easy.

question for my fellow BG3 lovers: i've wanted to get into it, but i have a rtx1070 (gigabyte brand) - can i even run this without causing a meltdown of nuclear proportions in my pc case (any graphics settings, really) or should i upgrade to something like a 4070 at this point?
from what i've seen of the game, it makes my fingers itch and i want to play it asap, but not when i'd melt my pc with it

i got bg3 for myself for christmas and i have been addicted.

i havent even completed act 1 yet but i have over 30 hours clocked in according to steam and have gone through three separate builds trying to get things just right. this has been my first ever foray into anything dnd related, so i needed a lot of time to get the hang of playing as a distinct character rather than an extension of myself, if that makes sense.

my #1 goal is to win over astarion because he is my babygirl and every time i see him i SQUEEE like a 12 year old girl (only exagerating a little)

i have been playing this on a laptop with an rtx 1650 ti (probably close to what you have, taking everything into account) and get 30-40 fps on a mix of high and ultra settings. zero crashes, and less than 5 immersion-breaking stutters in the 30 hours ive played. the game seems to be designed to be accessible to those with all but the most potato of pc's.
