Transferring items via trades help.

Did gift with actives as well, the active itself got frozen, but the shells are secure o.O

The major issue with trade transfers is that you have to be extremely careful with high-end items (particularly HT items because TNT flags those).
When I clear out active accounts, I do a mix of trade transfers and gifting. If the account has pure on it, I buy items like draik eggs and ETS stuff in the auctions and either gift to shells or trade. I usually don't keep more than 10mil worth of stuff on any given shell...that way if it gets iced, I don't lose everything.
I never self-ice anything...it looks really suspicious. If you truly want to freeze the account, get it frozen by SSing or posting bad things on the boards or something.
Then, of course, always let things sit on shells for as long as possible.

See and that is where I get confused because you say it is very suspicious yet a few guides on securing that I've seen says to self-ice every account before the final account.
