Member Userbar Collections and Stats

I was wondering if it was possible to see how many of a particular userbar have been awarded. It would be fun to see for the newer/rarer ones like the spongebob pop or the lavaliscious.

In a similar vein, I thought it would be cool to see a members userbar collection. Like where it shows the userbar amount, "userbars: xx", clicking the number would take you to their userbar collection/gallery?

I'm not sure if this is doable, or if it is it defeats the purpose. Just thought some stats/collections would be cool to see!

We have something along those lines on the main page of the forum, @(you need an account to see links). The most popular userbars don't change that much, so the numbers don't really fluctuate in a meaningful way. The same is true for the rarest userbars. A userbar will be rare for the brief time that we've released it, only to fall from the list and be replaced by retired userbars that are only displayed by a small amount of people. In order to mix things up, we limited what shows up on those lists to only userbars we've seen in the past day. Otherwise, certain userbars would stay on that list forever. The most popular userbar of all time never changes because pretty much every person in the forum has unlocked the Pikachu posting participation userbar, and nothing else comes close to topping that.

We could share userbars collected like stamps instead of keeping them walled off like avatars, but what does the community think about this?

If we're agreeing that those stats would only be visible for the userbars on the main page of the forum, then I'd be okay with having something like that. I wouldn't want to show every userbar in an official capacity because I feel like that detracts from the enjoyment of discovering them in the wild. That's also the reason we stopped maintaining the userbar list in the userbars and ranks thread. We're okay with the community documenting them, but if our staff does it, then it sort of spoils the surprise.

Ooo! I would love a userbar album too!

I believe this idea can breathe new life into the forum and motivate members to explore and participate more actively. Perhaps you and j03 could consider adding the unlock mechanism solution to the album after users have obtained it, so people know exactly how they've acquired each userbar. Wouldn't it be cool to have stamp-like userbars? For example, if you collect every Pokémon userbar, you could unlock THE rare DEOXYS userbar exclusively available through the album!


I'm really fond of the dynamic rotation on the main page, which keeps things fresh and never stagnant. HOWEVER! Introducing a stamp-like collection system can take this concept to the next level. It will provide users with the opportunity to showcase their individuality and achievements, making their profiles more captivating and personalized. This will further motivate members to explore and participate actively. I can also envision users requesting more events or the re-release of some of these rare userbars, which will keep the engagement levels high but might also be a little annoying.

The community's opinion on this idea will ultimately determine its fate, so I'm curious to see what y'all think about it too. Personally, I find this concept could be crazy fun and is very exciting to me.


Edit: I strongly agree with the spoiler surprise (good point), so let's not even consider including those solutions in the album?

That's more than fair, I get the point about spoiling it.

As for the album idea we could have it something like the stamp album, and like @(you need an account to see links) said, get a UB for completing pages which would be a lot of fun and add a new dimension to collecting, but not sure if that would be excessive lol

Maybe instead of releasing a whole new userbar for completing a page/"category" it would unlock a special permission group instead. Since we have so many userbars but maybe giving out a specific permission group would be something less taxing to implement. (Could be something as simple as a star emoji next to your name for how many "pages" you've fully unlocked)
