Streaming services?

Is it against the rules to ask if anyone knows any free sites or services to watch shows or movies, just got interested in that show "From", I was able to watch the first season for free on demand, but the second season is blocked by a paid subscription to MGM+. If this is against the rules to ask or share information about, I apologize and please delete.

If I recall correctly, it is borderline against the rules because it can lean towards the territory of media piracy.

However, the only legit free streaming service I know of is Tubi. They are free because there are short ads throughout but it’s really only 10-20 seconds of ads every 20 minutes or so. So it’s tolerable.

Hey! If you have any paid streaming services you can search to see if it's available on the same platform in another country, and then just use a VPN. (you need an account to see links) so you can browse some options! Using a VPN to access another country's streaming catalogue is perfectly legal.

It is however some streaming services are smart and won’t work with a VPN 😭

It's true... I blame all the YouTuber Surf Shark sponsorships. Still, there's a chance... Finding non-piracy alternatives to buying a single season or paying for another subscription has just gotten harder. I miss being able to just rent an entire series out on physical media.

Japan has rules against everything we can watch and even our VPN doesn't always help when the internet starts acting up.

I figured with us selling copywrite virtual stuff, it was a free-for-all. Good to know.

From a thread years ago, I remember an old staff member saying that talking about torrents was not allowed, which is technically media piracy!

I am unsure if that’s changed, but even on Discord you’re not allowed to talk about piracy either, as it is against their ToS apparently.

Some public libraries actually do have DVD rentals and movie and TV streaming with having a library card! My library does DVD, Blu-Ray and CD loans

Thank you for the help, I didn't realize it was part of Prime TV, but the MGM+ is a separate subscription, but I can just do the 7 day free trial and then cancel after binge watching as a temporary fix.

Not really related but coming from an asian country where we don't care about media piracy ( since its only the host who get targets and the host that earns the $$$ ) we just don't wanna spend a penny to buy the paid services. Streaming sites are so common here they go down every now and then and new one popping up fresh from the oven. But they are mainly chinese sites since they are the ones who gets all the sources.

Drawbacks would just be those annoying adult ads that are inbuilt into the video which we can't get rid using ad blocks and the buffering speed.

But personally, i do get a sense of joy and excitement when stumbling across a new and better site that host shows/ drama / variety .
