I went to summer school to bring my chem mark to an 80+ to apply for University. It is not that bad if you are doing it out of choice and therefore work at it to get a good mark. But if you simply give up on school at such an early age and low difficulty then you are likely setting yourself up for later failure.
I do not think a student in grade 8 should be studying for 4 hours a day , I mean going over the notes and doing homework sure but that should take max 2 hours altogether...enjoy the outside time you have leftover before you go to bed. Just like Joe says enjoy your youth, but do not forget that you need to do well in school so keep up the study habits/doing homework.
Now seriously, who the hell fails 8th grade. It's just sad for a girl. And I agree, 4 hours is a wee bit too much, that's the time I should've been studying in high school.
I'm a bit surprised how quick everywhere is to assume she's just throwing her life away or doesn't care. There could be hidden disabilities, undiagnosed, a family death that caused her to slip up in classes, many reasons why she's doing poorly. Granted she isn't a member but it's still tact to assume she's another fuck up.
I didn't know they held people back even if you were failing. Most cases I've seen you keep on moving through the school system until you hit senior year and don't graduate because you haven't passed the graduation requirements
