Anyone know the basics about making movies? [+rep]

So I have a movie project due tomorrow. I don't know the slightest thing about making movies.

Please post about editing/shooting/voiceover/etc. I'll +rep anything that helps me. Thanks.

Macs are the best for editing, I've seen people work magic with them Also, don't do long takes, it's a bitch to edit.

    Final cut is really good.
Windows Movie maker if you go hard in the paint~
Try to do small cuts in video.
How long does it need to be?

    desk top.

I need to act out a scene from a shakespeare book. No length requirement of the movie, just need a specific number of lines in it. probably like 5 minutes tops.

My friend has a recording studio, and records stuff.
He says probably one of the best program to edit movies for a Mac is FinalCut.
