No judgement please, but I bought a pet from someone here. I was recently notified that the account that pet came from openly said they were hacked. They got a different pet that had been stolen back. Reversals did seem to happen.(So now I'm like great, I bought a pet off of a stolen/hacked account)
I traded the pet I bought around, and the last person still has it. Nothing happened in that chain.
Now the odd part is, the "stolen pet" and some of the other good ones of the account were then gifted out or traded for pets with no value. (Yes, I do look at the accounts the pets I buy come from).
I don't care if the person who sold me the pet was selling the rest and wanted to make it seem like they got hacked because they were getting questioned or something, but the whole thing is kind of bizarre. Is the clraik seller actually using the account or is the original owner back? And if it's the original person, did they forget about the pet I bought?
I've bought a bunch of pets from this person before, and I didn't even have an issue with the pet I bought, so I feel weird asking them about it.

More so for advice/reassurance @(you need an account to see links)
Got'cha. I just wanted to make sure.
Trade reversals are incredibly commonplace, and while it's possible that your seller might be trying to pull a fast one, the best approach would be to talk it over with them before jumping to conclusions. If negotiations break down, then you would be welcome to file a dispute here in the forum if you want us to get involved with handling the situation. This may simply be a bit of bad luck though, and the majority of sellers in this community are happy to help resolve things with their buyers. Hopefully you'll come to an amicable resolution. Don't sweat the reversals though! Neopets is silly like that.

Bat's advice is very solid! I definitely recommend speaking to the seller first. I went through something like this recently, and I had to make a dispute myself since the seller wouldn't contact me. It could just be an unfortunate accident, and they may be able to help get the pet back for you.
I don't sell many pets but I do sell a lot of other stuff on here. As I seller I would want to know if there were any problems with something I've sold someone, not only so I have the chance to fix it for the customer but also if there is a problem with one thing I've sold then that means there could be issues with other things that I have (accounts, items, np, etc) and I'd want to know ASAP so I can take appropriate safety actions/precautions with anything connected to what I sold.
I agree with the above people. I think you should reach out to the seller, alert them about what happened with the pet you purchased (not only so you can get help but so they can safeguard themselves if need be), and figure out how to proceed with fixing the situation.

Completely agree with all above, contact the seller. I think they would appreciate being talked to and having a chance to work out any problems!

Thank you all for the advice. The pet I bought didn't have any issues with it, so I didn't know if I should say anything.
