I can't stress this enough, if you haven't lived with them, you can't speak about it. Had my grandfather not stood up against them in the 40's, he might have lived longer. But he was sent to work in a mine, which messed up his lungs and he was little over 40 when he died. Why was he caught and accused? Because his neighbor was a snitch. There is a reason Estonians are called cold, we can't trust anyone. Don't you dare say I'm prejudice against someone without a reason.
Well, your first few sentences mirrored what I said, exactly: you've been pushed into thinking the way you do because of the circumstances you've had to deal with. Since we're in agreement there, I think we can leave that as it is. I hope you accept at least, that because you've been made to leave it, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is true.

It means nothing, but you keep asking, so I'll answer: I do know Russians, and I'm learning the language. I know quite a lot about Russian culture, and sure, it may seem a bit strange to someone not accustomed to it, but that does not mean it's wrong: I can't accept egocentricity in regards to difference in people. If these people are making noises in your dormitory, talk to whoever organises the dorm if you can't talk to them yourself, and I'm sure they'll find a solution. Negatively pigeon-holing, then proceeding to harbour resentment is not the ideal way to fix it.

Never said it was wrong and never said anything bad about Russian culture in Russia. Do you think listening to loud music, tramping, yelling at the top of your lungs is a part of a culture? Have you studied Russian culture in Estonia?

They won't do anything since it wasn't after 11PM.

Yeah, i was kind of wondering how a complaint on 2 Russians being obnoxious in a dorm set off a nationality debate. They were being loud and they're russian. No one said anything about the russian people as a whole.

Well there you go: it wasn't after 11PM. If you don't like those rules, than perhaps it's your own culture that you have a problem with.

The original post didn't mention anything about the nation as a whole, but the following two did. As Ashley said, a thread is not defined by only its first post. I replied to the mentioning stereotypes, rather than the discussion about a couple of noisy students.

But picturing them as Russian is funnier.

    Don't like it... GTFO!

My culture? No. It comes down to respecting others. They don't live here alone. We have to be polite to them, or we'll be called racist, fascist. They don't have to be polite to us, since they're russians and can do as they please.

I'm not going anywhere, and nor are the immigrants in your country.

I understand that they don't seem to be respectful, but it's not because they're Russian. It's as simple as that.

Oh, my dear, but it is. I'm sorry, but once again, you haven't lived here, you just can't understand it. I am not bashing all of them, but the majority of them here are just like that.
