    Free Weights or Machines?

Do you prefer to use free weights or machines when working out?

I like free weights more since it helps me build more strength and formation.

I feel like machines are less intimating to beginners.

Free weights are better in so many ways, machines are complete crap.

Machines are good for starters, really helps to get the correct form on most exercises, but at the same time you are losing the ability to stabilize the weights in the exercise. I personally prefer free weights, but tend to mix it up when given the opportunity.

I remember transitioning from machines to weights.. it was extremely hard to keep a proper formation at first and the weights seemed so much heavier than the machines.

That definitely goes back to having to learn to stabilizing the weights.

Free weights. Unless you're a pro Bodybuilder focusing on isolation hypertrophy after working with free weights, then they sometimes use machines for that extra pump.
