I am ok with this as long as they provide an option in which I can create my own security questions.
Cooking is a gift from the gods.Spices are a gift from the devil.Looks like it was a little too spicy for you.

anything that will make our accounts more secure is ok but what i was really hoping for is to stop storing our pws in plain text and make the whole site https
Totally agree @(you need an account to see links), plain text PWs and lack of HTTPS is not acceptable in 2020... heck, it wasn't acceptable in 2010.

Will this make the site more secure? Probably not. It'll just add more hoops for people who are returning from a hiatus, or logging in from a new device, or whatever.
The thing that excites me the most is the fact that this will likely phase out needing your birthday/original email in order to handle big ticket requests. Which was honestly archaic as fuck. Not many people have access to their original email anymore, or even remember it. I know that my parents had used their email to help make my main bc I didn't have my own email account yet. And anyone who knows a user to any degree wouldn't have a terribly hard time figuring out their birthday, especially if they celebrated it on the boards or whatever.
Idk, I feel like users will take security questions a lot more seriously than their birthday. When you set up an account for a site, you don't typically assume the birthday will be used to help you log in if you can't reset your password. That's what security questions are for. Nobody is going to fudge those like they sometimes do with their birthday.
I'm really hungry.
meeh would have rather had 2f authentication tbh
dunno what to do with this...
