My Strange (Neopets) Addiction

I have a habit that started as a child with MS paint that I’ve returned to now with Procreate - planning out all my accounts’ pets + petpets with images. I’ve got 3 documents right now that’re just copy & pasted neopets images that I look at and fiddle with literally all the time. One is the current state of my accounts (pets’ current customizations, petpets, names), one is what I’d do with a 7th pet slot, one is a messy ‘planning’ one with what petpets I’d give various pets I like but don’t have, the names of pets I kind of want to trade for and who I could potentially offer, etc. The amount of time I spend with these open just staring lovingly is.......high

This has become a little less satisfying scale-wise since 2007, like it’s kind of cool to incoporate pets’ permanent wearables in what colours I’m matching a petpet to but the old images together are just..

ME TOO! On the planning thing! Except I do it in a google spreadsheet and it's hideous as fuck but the only thing my lizard brain can handle right now.

I recently filled my accounts with my "permie" pets and highlight an entire green row for an account signifying I've achieved my goal pets is just... yes I crave the dopamine hit lol

You guys have already called out most of mine (lurking in the PC even though I literally never post, opening Quick Ref to fondly stare at my pets). The other thing I do that's weird is still send neomails to old friends/RP buddies who were last spotted A Long, Long Time Ago...it's been almost a decade, it's almost certain they'll never be back...but you never know I came back after a 6+ year hiatus that I'm sure gave the impression I was gone forever. If [redacted] ever comes back she's going to have a mountain of messages from me, one every few months demanding she returns and telling her I miss her.

I pat my Neopets on the head with the cursor when I look at them blown up in quick ref.

I love to stare at my pets too, of course.
I also like to think about characters for them even when i'm not playing, but lately i never do something with it x_x

i think mine is mainly lurking, it used to be trading UCs and participating in shuffles but then i ran out of UC fodder, which wasnt even a bad thing because i had all pets i like haha

i check my petpage stats almost every day on my main and whenever i log onto my sides because i want to know if people ever visit the character pages i work on :')

i like checking for untaken pet names to tell people about if they seem to be struggling to find something they like

i have a notepad doc that's got about 30 lines of names ranging from obscure rws to pretty-sounding fantasyish names, rn mispells and stuff like that

also i enjoy the tedium of ranking/organizing items in my gallery! i emptied it out a long time ago because i skipped a few years' worth of items in a hiatus, but i just got back into it again and am actually looking forward to hunting down a few more of the obscure/expensive items to help complete it

Also I actually play Jelly Blobs of Doom. I'm not good at it or anything but I just like it for some reason lol.
I also love to feed my Neopets every day myself and read their little comments. It's so cute

That's another thing, I like looking at the pages too, partly to make sure everything displays right but I think that artificially bumps up the counter...

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I think I'm addicted to training my BD pet? They've got 2500+ HSD already, attack and defense are maxed, but I want to get to level 500 for those faerie abilities that I won't even use. And I want as much HP as possibly lol.

I've been debating training another pet too just to have another feasible neo-goal, maybe gift it to someone who doesn't have the time to train.
