I correct at times when it is something obvious or if the constant mistakes end up annoying me-usually that is from excessive chat speak lol. For me it is just a habit to spell as correctly as possible so I am simply used to it and when I read something that is misspelled or incorrect grammar I may point it out. Do I mean offense? Not at all, it is simply a habit for me to read something and think "that is wrong" "this makes no sense without periods" or "okay stop using chat speak and write at least one coherent sentence" if something is not correct. There are honest mistakes though like leaving out capitalization or avoiding the double space after a period I do not care about and if it is an obvious spelling mistake like "was" ends up being "wsa", people make mistakes when typing no big deal. Chat speak can be a major problem for me but I understand that some people want to type number replacements for words sometimes and skip letters altogether, I may point it out if the chat speak is excessive though because that can truly be difficult to read. But people should not be offended if someone corrects something, if you attended school you were taught the basics and there is no reason not to retain those basics. Individuals can be horrible at spelling but learning is always a good thing and it will help in the long run should a person have to write something out in a job setting.

Me too, but simple things, there is no need to correct them.
Otherwise, get a spellchecker for clraik, or ignore that person so you never have to see their hideous spelling again.

So why dont everybody stop correcting others, seeing as we ALL make mistakes sometimes?
PM them if it really bothers you. Some people do take it offensive, so why not appreciate that?

lol yes spellcheckers work. But some people still ignore the red squiggly line that tells them they spelled something wrong.
