I know they say there are no stupid questions, but here's one; what exactly does this program do(other than compile a list of names), and why would it matter if their email is unregistered or not? I'm a bit lost. If someone could clarify, it would be very nice.

I don't know exactly what it does, however if the email is unregistered you can register it and send the password to this new email. A lot of people do that to grab some accounts since they can have anything on them (UCs, pure, etc) or be just a shell. It's most of luck.
