On Monday (16/07), the littlest member of the clraik family was born. It was a very fast labour; I went from 4cm to delivery within 90 minutes. Unfortunately, this meant that I had to do it without any pain relief. They brought in the epidural guy for me, but I was crowning before he had his shit together...I felt every agonising moment, and it was definitely not fun. In the end though, Jayce Matthew was born, 8lb 7oz. Eevee has taken up the mantle of being a big sister with gusto- she loves her little brother, even though she doesn't quite understand that he is too little to know how to high-five her. I'm doing well, just trying to adjust to our new, bigger, family dynamic and the challenges that come with it. As such, I'm still on 'mod maternity leave' while this transition occurs.
