So looking at the AC, no one seems to have been given the new avatar so far. I guess theories are still out on how it'll be given.

I see a lot of people hate it and I personally think it would be much better without the bouncing effect and just the ... gradient effect? (I have no idea what it's called, the color change across the text)
What is it that everyone dislikes about it so much?

I am not a big fan, but lets be honest, this is a step in the right direction for TNT artists.
The past several avatars have been disgusting, gaudy mini-movies. As a result, people have been complaining. I think this avatar is a sign that someone is at least hearing these complaints.
I do like the return to standard avatar text font. This avatar needs some work, but overall, I'm optimistic
I'm just happy that there are more avatars, though the quality of most are pretty meh

Editorial sounds like the avatar will be given to Feb's winners and beyond.Any word on how to get the new Caption Contest avatar? Seems it wasn't given out last round... Any idea Scrappy?
