How do you know if a pet is PC 'safe'?

So I'm a noob when it comes to UCs and I've always wondered, how do they know if a pet is sold/bought/...
I know there's people crazy enough to watch certain names but is there a list floating around somewhere or something similar?

Check out this thread where it was talked about quite a bit:

In my personal opinion the term "PC safe" is outdated and doesn't really mean much these days. I'd wager that the a high percentage of VWN or rare UCs floating around these days were originally bought on the black market or are in some way ill gotten gains.

To answer your question in a nutshell there's really no way to tell if a pet was originally bought, like you said people will be watching pets but people are just report happy in general and the goal is to avoid arousing suspicion. "PC safe" just really means "PC known" and that it's a pet that's been traded openly so people will recognise it and know it's a legit pet...that doesn't always mean that people will believe you obtained it legitimately though.

In my opinion, no pet is PC safe. Whenever it is transferred in any way people tend to report it regardless or cause conflict just for attention.

No one is safe at the PC. If TNT likes you, you seem to be safer, some are obvious cheaters and are still alive whilst being very active on the PC. How to get them to like you? Probably buying Premium and loads of NC.

Never safe, it's just something that has been around for long enough that people know it means "has been on the PC and people will recognize it"

From my experience, if you trade a pet legitimately on the site you won't get frozen. People only really seem to get frozen when they adopt the pet for free (ie: buy it) or the trade doesn't seem feasible (BN red poundbait lenny for a UC plushie.)
