Complaining about Neopets? Neopets 2005 vs Neopets 2017

I love how active is still for such an old site. Neopets is stagnant but not dying not at least for a few years.

The conversion to HTML is probably the most important task that they're trying to complete. Flash is about to be extinct soon and browsers nowadays automatically disables flash which pushes away the less technically inclined users. Once the site is converted and there is a fully functional mobile version I'm sure the new owners will have an easier time fixing some of the perpetually broken features like the BD, Key Quest, DoN etc.

I agree html conversion is extremely important, some people don't seem to realize this and just keep being annoyed about xyz, most of what they're wanting are minor but important but if we don't get a conversion the site is doomed. Also I hear keyquest was outsourced for developement and is an unorganized mess(Think spaghetti code), not just that but its in a language that the current programmers are familiar with.

I, for one, am happy Neopets has been around for as long as it has. They've been trying to give us a lot of new things (even if it doesn't launch correctly) - the point is that they are trying. They could have easily wrote this site off as a loss and turned it off.

But they see potential in it, just like we all do. Keep on rockin', Neopets.

I don't like this idea. Inducting users into an official site clique would create unfair favoritism (think featheralley). The site was at its best when it was a team of professionals interested in appeasing users with fun concepts, or building on old ones. The problem is simply that the current team is too small and simply not as talented as the old one.

That is the issue that we are all aware of and I was offering a potential solution for it.
You have to consider, would you rather them cut features like that or possibly try something new? I can see how the argument could be made that it would create unfair favoritism -- but there are a lot of names out there that nobody knows who are very active. I think one of the rules would have to be that you don't tell anybody that you are a judge, or that judges get changed up every so often. I'm not sure, it could be tweaked as time goes on. A little more community involvement is never a better thing though, no matter how flawed.

We essentially have to not compare the site now to what it was back when it was "at its best" because realistically it's never going to get back on that level again.
