I used to play a game as in whatever random character my thing is on is who I play as. You will learn all of them that way and it may be easier. I started off as a D'va main but slowly shifted as a pharah main
I've only been playing for a few weeks now and am only really good on two heroes but i was wondering how long it usually takes to find a main. How long did it take for yall??

It's difficult to say. If you've got decent mechanical aim then pick soldier, or just go mercy. I have literally nothing to go off in terms of recommending a hero, but for a new player I'd suggest picking Soldier 76.
I liked playing 3vs3 eliminations. Forces you to try different heroes under different circumstances and you really get a feel for the pros and cons

Like the others said, Soldier 76 is a good pick for new players (and I think Bastion too since you just sit there and shoot your enemies).
It's usually a good idea to be good with, at least, two characters of each role so you can adapt to what your team needs (and in case your team is composed by those people who will refuse with everything they have to switch to another character).
I'm a support main (always been in every single game) but I do enjoy playing as a tank (Winston and D.Va are the ones I play the most).
I had never even heard of Overwatch before lol.
When I get home from work... I may have to try this out. Looks awesome!
But Destiny 2 comes out in 4 days
In DOTA I just played every character twice until I figured out a couple I liked best and went with one
That's like 200 characters x 2
