Item investing for price fixing/artificial inflation?

Not sure if that's the correct term or not, but I'm curious if discussing buying up retired/special items for the purpose of making profit from their inflation, isn't against the rules here. If not, would anyone be interested in doing something like that? I have a couple really good ideas on potential items.

I did this before with a couple books on the trading post. Bought literally everyone that came up, and they were rare item codes. Got about 50-60 and then got frozen. I think the book is about 20m now lol. I would suggest going for rare item codes if anything.

Lol damn, thanks for the heads up. I was wondering about that, good to know. Maybe I can try buying a smaller amount of items, spread between some shells depending on how many items that I would have to buy.

People started catching on though. Like the ones with multiple amounts of the books so they would start charging like 5x the original price to stop me. I would suggest buying up all the singles, and then throwing one on tp at a normal price, and then mailing people with doubles to buy. If that makes sense.

That's a good point man, definitely appreciate the advice. Always good to learn from the ones who've been there!

I'm glad to see some are interested! I'm still looking into a couple items to get a decent estimate on how many are in circulation, so I'll PM all of you that posted sometime this evening. Also, if you guys have any ideas, I'm down for checking those out too. Do your homework though and we'll get it poppin'!
