It was so entertaining. Always something to get your attention and keep you coming back. One day I'm addicted to avatars, the next the Battledome, the next restocking, the next games. Entertaining, difficult plots that made you actually think and solve puzzles. It was just a great game with so many developed aspects.
Also the Neoboards, back in 2006-2010, were so much fun. People were hilarious. It was awesome meeting people from across the world, all playing the same game. I miss being young and naive and having a ton of free time to just chat and be stupid with complete strangers every day.

I loved playing the games and when I joined around 2003, Hilary Duff was at her most popular stage, soi of course joined a Hilary Duff guild. Loved making friends there.
Back when I dropped out of college the first time (for medical reasons), I was in a major depressive slump. So, I went on a huge nostalgia binge. I spent hundreds of my grant dollars on getting back into everything I had loved growing up. This was about the time of the board filters getting knocked out, and I saw massive amounts of screenshots all over social media. I thought it was hilarious, and remembered enjoying Neopets as a kid, so I went and signed up. Being fairly into the black market for Runescape at the time, I went poking around the internet looking for tools to help me gain an edge in stockpiling Neopoints so I could get all the customs that I wanted (I absolutely suck at flash games, for reasons related to my medical history), and found a site other than cK with an auto-buyer. I used that for a while and pimped out (at least, I thought it was pimped-out) my main with a bunch of cool stuff. Then when I started digging into the market itself a bit more, I found out more and more - things like UnReg emails, duping (I had missed the actual duping days, sadly), and unconverted pets - and I've been here ever since.
The AC got me in back when I was a little kid
The community, you all, has kept me around ever since

First the games, I enjoyed playing them and wanted to paint my lupe baby, it was hard to save but i didnt have to get to 600k because of Boochi.
After that i joined a guild and made a lot of friends there, I remember spending hours chatting. Then i started reselling for a while and after that, pet trading.
Now i log to do the dailies and once in a while i trade pets or sell stuff~

For me I was looking for something to do while I was bored during summer vacation and I remember googling something along the lines off online virtual pet game and wham Neo popped up. I loved being able to make my own cute pets and care for them. I just wish I had the wherewithal to collect stamps, be aware of site events etc.lol
I was lonely and had like 0 social life and played Neo pretty much my whole teenagehood
the same applies, but I'm over Neo now
i love luna
ugh there were a few...
At first it was because I wanted a faerie acara. Acaras were my favorite then Aishas & Draiks. I loved hannah and the pirate caves and making/creating guilds and stories.
I LOVED the darigan/meridell plot going on early when I started as well. ^^
is it spooky season yet?
Probably not the most satisfying answer, but just the fact that it's always there.
It's like the one constant in my otherwise unpredictable life. I can go away for a month or a year and I come back and it's still there, and more or less the same as always. That can be pretty addictive in itself. Life isn't typically something you can just pick up right where to left off year after year, whenever you feel like it. Despite all it's flaws, I gotta give Neopets major props for its longevity.

I played it a lot when I was about 10 yr and two years ago, during the holidays, I reminisced of advent calendar prizes and the December 1st avatar, then I felt nostalgic and made an acc. Since that I fell in love with the game again.
