Does anyone here actively try and scam users?

It comes down to the idea of honour among cheaters. We may be a cheating community, but that doesn't make us bad people. We cheat in a way that benefits ourselves, but does not have a direct negative impact on the experiences of others. Sure they might not get that item restock or trophy spot, but it's not taking away what they already have. Don't be a douchebag human being. Pretty simple to do.

I'm surprised actually, for how everyone replied to this thread.

I mean, I'm sure that most of us have scammed some user at one point, maybe even more than once, maybe even actively at some point.

I know I have. My first UC ever was gotten by saying I would give an ice draik egg to the other user (aka, a pet for pet trade but they wanted to create the draik, so it was item for pet) and I never gave them the egg... actually, I never had an egg to start with. I also used to say "I'll give you 200k for that baby pet" and never give the 200k but keep the pet of course.

I actively tried and actively succeed.
And hey, throw the first rock who ever is clean on their mind, because honestly, we all have those kind of stories.

It may looks dumb, but I'm that introverted-insecure-anxious-person type and I play neopets as a stress relief, so I would feel really bad if someone stole something mine, because real life is pretty hard and the game makes me feel nice.

I've seen lots of people on the boards struggling through depression, anxiety and some other disorders and I think that a "simple" scamming must have a big impact to some users. I would be VERY VERY sad if that happened to me. I only cheat to benefit myself, it may be only a child's game, but scamming some users would make me feel really terrible. That's something I'll never do.

Maybe in the past some of us have scammed someone because we weren't mature enough, or we thought that it was just a game and it wouldn't affect a player so badly, but nowadays this is unacceptable.
