What tattoo should I get?

So, I decided to get a tattoo to cover up my selfharm scars on my thigh. Now, the thing is; I don't know what to do to cover it all up. It's about half of my thigh in it's width, and in the length it's 1/5 of my thigh to cover up.
I deffinetly want to get an anchor because since my recovery I started liking things like the sea, beach, sailor-themed stuff and so, even though I was afraid of water. But an anchor can't cover it all up.
any ideas?

Id say something like a large Octopus
Their tentacles can twist and be placed just about anywhere so it would help you cover up the scars
Or you could do a badass thigh 'sleeve' (which will hurt like a motherfucker - especially under the ass and the inner thigh area)
A ship on unsteady seas, on a voyage through life kinda shit
