    Cell phone advice

So I have Straight Talk for my carrier and need to get a new phone without breaking the bank. I've been looking at the Galaxy J7, does anybody have experience with this phone? I'm looking for something with the latest version of android, and 4gb of ram and a decent storage capacity. Any help is appreciated.

@(you need an account to see links) Link me to (or post) your carrier's phone catalog?
Try to avoid Samsung phones (low and mid-end ones)
    Pros:
    - AMOLED Screen (pitch blacks)
    - Fingerprint sensor
    Cons:
    - TouchWiz
    - 16GB is nothing for today's standards.
    - 1.5 gigs of RAM is also really low.
    - Android 6.0.1 isn't the latest version of Android
    - Samsung is SLOW AS F**K with software updates

Well, you said you want the latest version of Android and 4 gigs of RAM.
That usually means a mid-to-high end phone, 4 of RAM is more than what people usually need.
And the latest (available) version of Android is 7.1.2 (Nougat) only the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have Oreo.
The Motorola G5 Plus 64/4 [storage/RAM] fits your needs pretty well, kinda goes out of your budget though.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (not sure what it runs tbh, it just works for what I personally need) and I bought it a year and a half ago for around $200ish maybe a little less. It's probably much cheaper now, under $150 I'm sure. Good luck!

i know how it feels bro, went from a (you need an account to see links) (which, btw, took like 2 years to receive the lollipop update).
to a much better phone and felt good man.
I'd probably still take even a Galaxy S4 though (looks better than the S5 to me), I mean it's still an upgrade XD.
But if you want more recent devices the Moto G series have been one of the best budget smartphones... Apart from brands like OnePlus, etc.

Are you not able to do payments? I didn't know ST did payment plans now. Out of the options that I can see, for the price range, I don't think you're going to get what you want.

I personally adore LG, and my G5 (minus this refurbished one AT&T insulted me with) has been solid. Unlocked ones run a little more than $150 though.

Looking at the specs of the Moto G4 Play, I think I might go with that. My credit is garbage so I can't get a nice phone on payments. But yeah, the G4 has 2gb or RAM, 16gb of internal storage expandable up to 128gb, and is running Android 6.0. I can get one at my local best buy for $105!
