I'm also the loner type. I love to be at home and I always avoid social interaction, but sometimes (rarely) I make an effort to go out with my small circle of friends and I end up having fun.
I'd say to go out and enjoy your time with friends. If you get bored at the party, you'll only need to go back home

I guess I'll break the streak, I'm not particularly the "loner type." I always go to events when invited, if it's lame, just leave.
You can hang out at your house any day, whereas this is a one time thing. Go for it!
