I've never seen anyone get in trouble for doing fun auctions. I don't think they're against the rules.
I know they don't like free trades or gifting, but what about real fun auctions? I'm not talking HTS items selling at 50% off. More like high end ETS starting at 100np or something.
Anyone have experience with this? I remember a player doing it last year and getting iced but I don't think it was because of doing FAs.

I thought it was the whole announcing these kinda things on the boards that are against the rules? An auction is still selling but I would bet people report them though.

I've seen some high-end rare stuffs went way low on fun auctions. Yeah I have seen 1np or like 1k increments auctions through my years on selling/trading on neo.
As far as it is not against the rules. Also it is fun to do sometimes.

If it's fun, it's probably prohibited.
Just be careful you're not frozen for suspicious activity if you do a few of them.

I remember a few yrs ago people would sometimes get iced for winning a FA cuz the account was a shell or something/the (usually high end) item was illegit. I don't think this happens now from what I've seen, tho. 1 np fa's are definitely not against the rules, people were probably iced for a different reason relating but not specifically due to that.

I know plenty of guilds do 1 NP auctions and I don't think any of them have gotten in trouble. They use the NF only feature but I feel like the concept is the same, one is just a more limited pool of players able to participate than the other.
I also see Fun Auctions advertised on the Trade Chat from time to time and everyone is usually fine!
As long as you aren't doing it from a shell or an account that can be flagged for suspicious activity, I don't think there would be any issues! If people can auction their junk for a jacked up price, you should be able to do the opposite haha
