    How to avoid restocking fee when return on ebay?

    I ordered an item on ebay and the seller charges a 15% restoking fee if I return the item.

    I don't deal with Ebay much but I would imagine it would be hard to get around the fee unless the item is defective. Even then I'm not sure what the rules are with defective items.

    If the item wasn't as described you can file a claim with EBay, they'll force the seller to pay return shipping and charge no restocking fee.
    If you just changed your mind on the item, don't try to get around the restocking fee. It is a real pain to deal with returns, especially when there isn't any reason beyond "I changed my mind."
